Free training will be offered next week for aspiring entrepreneurs looking to start their own business.

Rebel Business School, sponsored by Kent County Council, is hosting a 10-day live learning event starting next Monday, July 19.

Simon Paine, CEO of Rebel Business School

The free online program is open to anyone living in Kent and Medway with the dream of starting their own business and takes place between 10am and 3pm via Zoom.

The Queen’s Enterprise Award-winning initiative will teach hands-on skills on how to build a website from scratch, collect payments online, and use social media to find customers and build a brand.

KCC Cabinet Member for Economic Development Derek Murphy said, “The pandemic has turned many people’s lives upside down. While some have lost their jobs and are looking for a new direction, others have decided that time is too short to be stuck in an unsatisfactory role and run their own fulfilling business.

“There are also many people with years of commercial experience looking for support to adapt to the ‘new normal’ ways of running a business due to the coronavirus – including a greater online presence, pre-booking and using channels like Instagram and Facebook for Advertising purposes.

“As the country continues its Covid recovery, we are sponsoring this course to help people regardless of age, at work or outside of the workplace, acquire the expertise they need to start, build, and maintain businesses today lead and take a positive step. ”
